Best Outdoor Area in Scotland (2019, 2023, 2024)
Our outdoor terrace has become one of the most recognisable spaces in Edinburgh. Designed to work year-round, it’s full of familiar details, hanging plants, soft lighting, and plenty of seating for both locals and visitors.
We’ve received the Best Outdoor Area in Scotland award three times, most recently in 2024. It’s a space where people come together to catch up, relax after work, or enjoy a drink under the lights. The terrace has grown into one of the most talked about features of Black Ivy, and we’re proud to see it recognised again and again.
Dog Friendly Pub of the Year (2022)
Being pet-friendly has always been part of who we are. In 2022, we were awarded Dog Friendly Pub of the Year, and it’s something we take to heart!
Dogs are welcome throughout our terrace and bar area, and it’s not uncommon to see regulars visiting after a morning stroll around Bruntsfield Links. Water bowls are kept topped up, and our team will often sneak a treat to any well, behaved pups who stop by.
This award recognises the effort we’ve made to create a space where dog owners can feel relaxed, included, and confident bringing their pets along.
